Placing a vast distance between his camera lens and the impressive Monument of Monument Valley in Arizona, Nick Meek evokes the alien landscape of an uninhabited planet, perhaps Mars.

The rich crimson soil, a creation of iron-oxide mineral river deposits, contrasts with the palest blue sky and soft, fluffy white clouds which have just started to descend, casting a slight darkness over the right hand side of the composition.

A true contrast of texture, colour, and form, which invites the viewer to discover a new particle of fascination with each glance.
