"Images with layers of interest intrigue me. Congrats and contradictions. The unexpected. A shape that looks like a fish is deposited in a completely inappropriate surrounding.

"Ideas and influences for this image coming from the Fauves and the Surrealists. The Fauvists used colour in such unexpected ways and it is one of the very real joys of this approach to photography that I get to choose the colours I wish to use.

"Like an artist mixes a palette I will happily spend hours looking at how one colour influences another. Josef Albers wrote extensively about colour perception and his ideas have influenced me greatly." - Valda Bailey
